About Love by Celia Terrorism – A Candlelight Book Review

What’s So Good About Beeswax Candles? My answer to that would be a sense of peace, a feeling of wellbeing and a general sense of well being in general. Beeswax candles can give you that feeling of wellbeing. There is a sense of calmness about them that seems to carry over into my life, as well as onto those of other people I have come into contact with, and it seems to be carried naturally with me. This, to me, is about the most wonderful of things about beeswax candles.

The author, Dr. Helen Thomas, PhD, author of The Love Tree, has us in her sights. She teaches that we all want to be loved unconditionally, and that unconditional love is not about being nice to people, but rather, about treating people with kindness, generosity, compassion and consideration. In this book, she focuses on how candles can help us do just that. Through a series of well-illustrated chapters and short, sharp sound bites, she encourages readers to become more aware and even conscious of the ways that we treat each other and to take a cue from those around us to make sure that we do good things and don’t do bad things.

What’s so great about this book is that it’s a very fast read. I got through the first chapter in a matter of minutes. Once I got through that, I was hooked! I finished reading it in one day, actually.

What’s so great about it is that Dr. Thomas explains in easy to understand language what she means by loving unconditionally. It’s a message that is easily understood, and it’s one that I think many of us can relate to, regardless of our backgrounds or beliefs. If you feel as though you’ve been doing a bad job of showing your loved ones how much you love them, or if you feel as though you haven’t been doing a good enough job of expressing it to them, then this book is for you. In addition to the practical advice that comes with this text, what really struck me were the images and pictures included in the book. At times I felt as though I was actually seeing things that weren’t possible for photography. In fact, I felt as though I should be taking pictures of hot wax pouring over candle-holders! On another page, Dr. Thomas displayed a wide array of some of her favorite scented candles. The images were gorgeous and evocative.

This is a book about relationships, and love in general. It’s a book about learning to fall in love with yourself. Dr. Thomas shows you how to create your own little universe of love and light where you can be yourself and release all of your fears about who you are and what you “should” be. This is a truly remarkable book. Highly Recommended!
